UK: Plymouth Gin to sponsor Ascot days
Plymouth Gin is to sponsor two days at Ascot in July and headline the Plymouth Gin Summer Mile race at the horse racing event.
On 11 and 12 July Plymouth Gin will have its own cocktail bar in the public paddock with the addition of Mixxit bar apprentices.
"With Ascot being the most popular horse racing meet in people's social calendar, we are delighted to be sponsoring these two days," said Maxxium UK's brand manager for Plymouth Gin, Andrew Jack. "Having both been established in the 18th century, Ascot and Plymouth Gin are quintessentially English and the partnership is a fantastic opportunity to bring together people that love our product and also share a common interest. It is also a way in which to branch out and show the premiumisation of the brand."
Plymouth Gin was the subject of rumours in April, following Pernod Ricard's acquisition of its owner, Vin & Sprit. Davide Campari-Milano said it would consider buying brands that Pernod might sell off, with reports suggesting that Pernod will divest of the gin brand.
