SLOVENIA: Pivovarna Lasko raises net profit

Pivovarna Lasko more than doubled its group net profit in the first nine months of the year.

The Slovenian company said today (29 October) that it has seen net profit rise to EUR14.77m (US$21.3m) from EUR6.84m the same time the previous year.

In a statement to the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) where it is listed, the company reported that group net sales, until September, rose by 6.8% on the year to EUR224.03m.

The brewer, which is the largest in Slovenia, said in August, that net profit for the first six months of this year rose to EUR22.15m (US$30.18m) from EUR6.41m in the corresponding half a year earlier.

The increase came on the back of growing sales for the period, which reached EUR250.68m from EUR133.83m in H1 2006.
