Slovenian beverage producer Pivovarna Lasko has stopped the sale of its 12.3% stake in food retailer Mercator.

Lasko, Mercator's largest shareholder, received three bids for its stake in March. However, competition watchdog UVK had said last month that Lasko needed its approval before selling its stake, according to Reuters.

In a statement today (5 May), the firm said that a decision by the Supreme Court on 29 April meant that it could not now dispose of its share.
