Pittsburgh Brewing is still being chased for water and sewerage charges despite filing for bankruptcy at the end of last year.

The US brewer, which last year filed for protection from creditors under federal bankruptcy regulations, has been told by the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority to pay over US$147,000 in charges accrued since the filing.

The Authority this week asked the US Bankruptcy Court to enforce a January order that the brewer pay its security deposit and bills on time.

Last year's bankruptcy protection application was prompted by Pittsburgh Brewing's failure to pay bills amounting to $2.5m for water and sewerage. The company is still operating under Chapter 11 protection.
