Champagnes Piper-Heidsieck & Charles Heidsieck, owned by Remy Cointreau, will sponsor the Concours International des Jeunes Sommeliers for the next three years.

The Concours International des Jeunes Sommeliers - a young sommelier competition - is hosted and promoted by gastronomic society Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.

The competition is open to those aged 21-35 years.

Anne-Charlotte Amory, president of Champagnes Piper-Heidsieck & Charles Heidsieck, said: "Supporting the sommelier community is extremely critical as they are the most vital ambassadors of the wine industry. After becoming the title sponsors of UK Sommelier of the Year in 2009, we are delighted to be able to increase our support to this important community of wine professionals by also sponsoring the Concours International des Jeunes Sommeliers."

The 2009 international finals will be hosted in the UK by the Bailliage de Grand Bretagne from 23-25 September in Stratford-upon-Avon, with competitors coming from the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs' 70 member countries.
