Pernod Ricard's Polish vodka company, Wyborowa, is under investigation by the country's authorities, according to local reports. Polish News Bulletin said today (25 July) that the company is being probed by the Internal Security Agency and fiscal authorities over alleged irregularities in the managing of its assets.

Prosecutor Andrzej Jozwiak told the news service: "The investigation is a result of the information of the tax authorities, which are still examining the company's documents. The terms under which Wyborowa signed agreements with external companies raise the greatest doubts."

Wyborowa has seen its domestic market share dip from 20% four years ago to 4.5%, the news bulletin noted.

No-one from Pernod was available for comment when just-drinks went to press.
