Pernod Ricard has lined up two additions to its Hiram Walker liqueur range in the US.

The drinks giant's US subsidiary confirmed earlier this month that two new schnapps flavours will be rolled out in both the US on- and off-trade. Hiram Walker Pink Grapefruit and Hiram Walker Pear Schnapps will be released this spring, the company said.

"Flavour is the name of the game in the liqueurs category," said Ron Zussman, Hiram Walker's brand director at Pernod Ricard USA. "The category has grown 25% over the past six years spurred primarily by new flavour introductions and consumers' continued fascination with cocktails.

"At Hiram Walker, we are focused on developing new flavours that satisfy consumers' ever expanding and evolving taste palettes. Our research shows that pink grapefruit and pear are flavours that peak consumer and bartender interest for their sophisticated yet familiar tastes."

The flavours will be available in 50ml, 750ml and 1-litre sizes and will be offered at a suggested retail price of between US$8.99 and US11.99 for the 750ml. The releases will be backed by trade advertising, sampling and on- and off-premise point of sale materials.

Hiram Walker schnapps is available in the US in an array of flavours, including Sour Apple, Peppermint and Pomegranate.
