Pernod Ricard's US unit has announced the latest permanent addition to its Kahlua portfolio. Chili Chocolate is said to blend rich chocolate with hot chilli.
Citing Mintel research, Pernod Ricard USA said coffee, chocolate and spice blends are in the top 15 flavours for new product innovation and development.
"Kahlua consumers are continually in search of the next exciting adventure and uniquely distinct experience," said Troy Gorczyca, brand director, Kahlua, Pernod Ricard USA. "Kahlua is acknowledging that fiery spirit by offering an antidote to the everyday and kicking classic cocktail favourites up a notch."
Earlier this year, the company outlined a reorganisation of its brand units in the US. The units are focused around "five key moments of conviviality". Kahlua forms part of the 'Hanging Out' segment, along with Malibu and Seagram's.
In March last year, Pernod released limited-edition Kahlua Salted Caramel.
