Pernod Ricard has announced a change of international brand director for its Jameson Irish whiskey brand.

The company confirmed today (18 August) that Nick Blacknell will assume the position at Pernod's Irish Distillers arm from 12 October.

Blacknell, who is the current brand director for Beefeater and Plymouth gins, will replace Richard Black, who will become marketing director for Pernod Ricard Japan from 1 September.

Prior to joining Pernod's Chivas Brothers division in 2005, Blacknell, 44, held various marketing and commercial positions at Vin & Sprit and Seagram UK.

A replacement for Blacknell at Beefeater and Plymouth gin is currently being sought.
