Pernod Ricard has appointed a new MD of India

Pernod Ricard has confirmed that Guillaume Girard-Reydet, currently managing director of Pernod Ricard Wyborowa and of Central Europe, will be appointed managing director of Pernod Ricard India.

The news follows a report published by The Times of India, in which the paper called him "the first ex-pat" to head up the region. He will assume the position on 1 August.

Girard-Reydet will replace Mohit Lal, who is to head up Pernod Ricard Asia Travel Retail, according to the report.

More personnel announcements are expected in the coming weeks.

Earlier this month, Pernod Ricard CEO Alex Ricard called India a key 'battle ground' for the company.
