FRANCE: Pernod Ricard appoints global marketing VP

Pernod Ricard has appointed Martin Riley, head of marketing for its Chivas Brothers division, as the group's new vice president of global marketing.

A spokesperson for the French wine and spirits giant confirmed the move to just-drinks today (21 January). She declined to comment further.

Riley, who has been with Chivas since the division's birth in 2001, will replace Jean-Paul Richard, who is expected to retire.

Chivas Brothers handles Pernod's Scotch whisky and premium gin portfolio.

It has successfully captured a boom in global demand for Scotch whisky in recent years, with flagship brand Chivas Regal reporting an 11% sales rise in the fiscal full-year ended 30 June 2008.
