Pernod Ricard will focus its future acquisition attentions on the US. Speaking to Le Figaro after the French company completed its purchase of Allied Domecq, chairman and CEO Patrick Ricard said that Pernod is "still proportionally weak" in the US.

Ricard added that the company's wine business was a sector that was ripe for growth going forward.

Although the company will continue to pay down debt over the next few years, Ricard said, there remains some room for small future purchases.

The Allied Domecq acquisition, completed today (26 July), will see Pernod grow by 60% and double its profit, Ricard told the French newspaper.
