Indra Nooyi said PepsiCo is confident about its business in China, and is ready to further expand investment

The CEO of PepsiCo has told China's vice-premier Wang Qishan that the soft drinks giant is keen to increase its investment in China, according to the Chinese Government.

On a visit to Beijing on Thursday (30 June), Indra Nooyi said that PepsiCo is confident about its business in China, and is ready to further expand investment in the country, according to a notice on the Government's website. Last Year, PepsiCo pledged a US$2.5bn investment in its food and beverage businesses in China over a three-year period.

Qishan expressed appreciation of the company's increase of investment in the country, adding that the economies of China and the US are "mutually dependent, and cannot manage without each other".

Calling enterprises major players of markets, Wang said the two governments should provide "favourable environments for cooperation among enterprises".
