PepsiCo has appointed a senior vice president and chief personnel officer.
The US company said that Cynthia Trudell will assume both positions with immediate effect, replacing Margaret Moore, who is set to retire in June at the age of 59. Trudell, 53, has been a member of PepsiCo's board of directors since 2000 but has now resigned the position.
"I welcome Cynthia to my senior team and look forward to her continued counsel, while thanking her for her invaluable service to PepsiCo's board," said PepsiCo's CEO and chairman, Indra Nooyi.
Trudell, the former president of Sea Ray Group and previously the chairman and president of General Motors' Saturn Corporation, will report directly to Nooyi, who herself was yesterday elected to the additional position of chairman, effective from 2 May.
