Pepsi-Co. has been removed from a Syrian blacklist of companies which have dealings with Israel, according to a report in the official Syrian newspaper al-Thawra.

Pepsi was among many US and western firms which were blacklisted in Syria 50 years ago by the Damascus-based Bureau for the Boycott of Israel, which is affiliated with the Arab League, the newspaper said.

Syria's Economy Minister has been reported as having lifted the ban, however, with Pepsi now being allowed to deal with local businesses subject to normal company regulations.
