Patrón is targeting growth in Croatia

Patrón Spirits is set to enter Croatia's spirits market, ahead of the country's entry into the European Union this year, with a distribution deal with Mohor Trgovina.

Zagreb-based Mohor will distribute Patrón Tequila as well as the company's XO Cafe coffee liqueur, Ultimat vodka and Pyrat rums in the country, Patrón said today (26 March). Distribution will focus on restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels and premium retail locations in key cities and resort spots, the company said.

“Croatia’s thirst for sophisticated, luxury spirits is expanding quickly and, with the country’s ascension to the European Union later this year, increased tourism and investment there will only continue to grow,” said Patrón's COO, John McDonnell.

Mohor’s distrbution portfolio in Croatia includes Moët Hennessy, Bols and Croatian, Italian, French and Australian wines.

This year Patrón announced that McDonnell would take on the dual role of president for its international operations to boost the group's global expansion.
