US: Paterno Wines International changes name

By | 2 March 2007

US company Paterno Wines International has changed its name.

The group announced yesterday (1 March) that it will be known as Terlato Wines International.

"For decades, our father worked to create a business that was a worthy tribute to our grandfather, Anthony Paterno," said president and CEO of Terlato Wine Group William Terlato.

"My brother John and I are proud to honour our father, and to renew our family's commitment to the tradition of excellence he established. At a time when industry consolidation is creating public multinational corporations obligated to shareholders, our family's quest for quality above all else is stronger than ever."

He added: "Our father's passion and dedication to excellence is the philosophical foundation for our business, and this name change affirms our pledge to place quality ahead of short-term thinking and short-term results."

The Terlato Wine Group is the parent company of wine operations that specialise in wine marketing and production.

The company handles over 40 brands for the US market, selling wines from the Napa Valley, as well as countries including France, Italy and Australia.
