US: Paterno adds Langlois-Chateau to portfolio

By | 21 September 2005

US wine importer Paterno Wines International has added the Loire wine producer Langlois-Chateau to its portfolio. The importer announced yesterday that it had agreed an exclusive, long-term agreement to market Langlois-Chateau wines in the US.

"At Paterno, we craft our luxury portfolio the way a fine restaurant crafts its wine list, balancing our selection across region, style and price," said PWI president and CEO, William A. Terlato. "The wines of Langlois-Chateau are light, round and balanced, with an enduring tradition of quality, in one of the world's important wine making regions. These are the premier Chateau wines of Loire."

Founded in 1885, Langlois-Chateau established its reputation with rich and elegant Cremant de Loire sparkling wines. It is also a renowned producer of AOC Sancerre from its property, Chateau de Fontaine-Audon, and also produces other still wines of the Loire region.

The full line-up which Paterno will be marketing comprises two Cremant wines, Langlois Cremant de Loire Brut NV and Langlois Cremant de Loire Brut Rose NV, and six still wines: Chateau de Fontaine-Audon Sancerre Blanc; Pouilly-Fume "Les Pierrefeux"; Vieilles Vignes du Domaine Langlois-Chateau Saumur Blanc; Cabernet de Saumur Rose Sec "La Bretonniere"; Chinon "Les Montifault"; and Chateau de Varrains Saumur-Champigny Rouge.
