AUSTRALIA: Nick Faldo launches wine range

By | 15 August 2008

Golfer Nick Faldo has launched his own range of wines in time for this year's Rhyder Cup golf tournament between Europe and the US.

Faldo, now Europe's Rhyder Cup captain, has launched a range of "easy-drinking wines" from Australia in collaboration with Katnook Estate, based in the Coonawarra region and owned by Spain's Ferrer family.

The wines include Faldo Sauvignon Blanc, Faldo Carbenet Sauvignon and - the golfer-turned-winemaker's reputed personal favourite - Faldo Shiraz. They will be available in the US in time for this year's Rhyder Cup, which takes places on 19-21 September.

Faldo said: "Classic golf courses and classic wine are defined by a common ingredient - soil."
