Greene King has appointed a new managing director for its Brewing Company division. The company said today (24 May) that Justin Adams will assume the position in September. Adams will also become an executive member of the main board.

Adams, 39, is currently managing director in UK and Ireland, of Maxxium, the global marketing, sales and distribution company for premium wines and spirits. Maxxium's portfolio includes brands such as The Famous Grouse and Absolut Vodka. Prior to this position, Adams held a number of positions at Diageo, the last of which was managing director of Guinness in Germany.

In a statement, Rooney Anand, Greene King chief executive, said: "Justin will be a great addition to our strong team. His dynamic personality and wide-ranging experience will help our brewing business to maintain its competitive edge in terms of customer service and beer quality.

"Justin will be responsible for ensuring that our first class brands continue to out-perform the market."
