Pernod Ricard is preparing for its change of leadership later this year with the appointment of two further deputy managing directors.

The wine and spirits company, whose CEO & chairman, Patrick Ricard, is retiring as CEO in November, said today (26 June) that current chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard Europe, Thierry Billot, will become deputy managing director in charge of brands. Pernod Ricard Americas chairman and CEO, Michel Bord, meanwhile, has been promoted to deputy managing director in charge of the distribution network.

Billot will be responsible for the 'brand owner' companies, which determine the 15 strategic brands' policies, with Bord's duties set to include the organisation and control of the group's distribution networks, as well as the implementation of brands' strategies in the markets, working together with Billot.

The two will join Pernod's management team, which consists of Patrick Ricard, Pierre Pringuet, managing director and Ricard's successor as CEO, Emmanuel Babeau, deputy managing director in charge of finance and Bruno Rain, deputy managing director in charge of human resources.

The appointments will take effect from 1 July.
