Sapporo will launch a new beer brand next week. The Japanese brewer has said it will launch the brand next Wednesday (22 September), to mark the opening of the new Central Jappan International Airport (Centrair) near Nagoya, in February next year.

The new black label beer will be called Central Japan International Airport Centrair, according to local press, and will be introduced in the Aichi, Gifu and Mie prefectures of the Tokai area in central Japan.

The new beer brand will be marketed by the company until November 2004 at a price of JPY218 (US$1.98) per 350 ml can. Sapporo expects to sell a total of 110,000 cases of the new beer during the two-month period of sales.
