Canadian brewer, Molson, is to close three of its plants in Brazil and reconfigure a fourth brewery at its Kaiser brewing subsidiary.

The measures will result in an R$20m saving. Around 220 jobs, representing 8% of the company's workforce, will be lost.

Molson, which earlier closed the company's head office in Rio de Janeiro resulting in a R$10m saving, is aiming to cut annual costs by R$100m by 2005.
