The sale of mineral water at retail level in Switzerland has fallen 10% in the year to May. According to research group AC Nielsen sales reached CHF282m (US$221m).

However there was good news on the flavoured mineral water front, sales of which were up CHF5m to CHF12.6m.

AC Nielsen also reported a rise in the market share of non-carbonated and low-carbonated mineral waters.

Non-carbonated water now commands 36.2% of all mineral water sold. Some 46% of the total market is now low carbonated.
