AUSTRALIA: McGuigan cuts grape prices - reports
By Tony Baker | 18 January 2005
Australia's McGuigan Simeon wine group has upset independent grape growers in the South Australian Riverland region by slashing prices for the 2005 vintage now getting under way, the local press has reported.
Chardonnay prices are reported to have been cut by almost half with smaller reductions for red varieties in response to over-supply and the relatively strong Australian dollar.
There was no comment from McGuigan chief Brian McGuigan.
