SCANDINAVIA: Maxxium juggles travel retail team
Maxxium has announced two appointments to its global travel retail team in the Nordic region.
The distribution and marketing company said today (7 March) that Torbjörn Norrud has been appointed sales director for the Nordic travel retail area, as well as for the Faroe Islands domestic market.
Norrud, previously product manager for alcohol and tobacco at Sundsservice, will be responsible for the sales and marketing teams in the Nordic area, and will report to Erik Thomsen, regional director Europe North. He replaces Fredrik Borin, who earlier this week left Maxxium to take up the leadership of the travel retail division of Sweden's largest private wine and spirits importer Fondberg & Co.
At the same time, Michaela Weckman has been appointed key account manager for the Finnish and Baltic region of Maxxium global travel retail. Weckman has worked for six years in the Maxxium Nordic travel retail team as promotion and sales executive with the responsibility for the Finnish and Baltic customers, and will report in to Norrud. She takes over the role of Björn Sundell, who has left the company "to pursue other interests", Maxxium said.
