Mast-Jagermeister has reportedly taken on Bacardi's head of German operations to run its domestic business.

Local reports from Germany late last week claimed that Michael Volke will leave Bacardi in the country and join Jagermeister from 1 December. The change follows the departure of Hasso Kaempfe in May.

Nobody was available for immediate comment at either Bacardi or Jagermeister when contacted by just-drinks today (8 October).

Late last week, Jagermeister lost a trademark battle in the Czech Republic with Domita. The Czech Supreme Administrative Court dismissed claims that consumers could be confused by Jagermeister's namesake liqueur and Domita's Fortova Horka brand.

Jagermeister had claimed that Fortova Horka, which translates in German as 'Jagerbitter', bore too much resemblance to its brand. The court also dismissed complaints that Fortova Horka has a stag on its label, as does Jagermeister.
