KWV and distributor Arvid Nordquist have agreed a five-year extension of their pan-Nordic wine and spirits contract.

They signed the original exclusive contract in about 2002, but have worked together since 1993. South African wines make up around 20% of all wines in Sweden and 11% in Finland.

KWV said that its Café Culture, a Pinotage with strong coffee aromas, has been very successful in the region, as has the Roodeberg brand. Pearly Bay, meanwhile, is the fourth largest wine brand sold in Finland.

KWV's CEO, Thys Loubser, said that the companies have a common vision of growing wine and brandy sales in Scandinavia.
