Swedish brewer Kopparbergs Bryggeri has posted a rise in net income for the third quarter.

Net income for the three-month period to the end of September reached SEK7.2m (US$1.04m) compared to SEK2.6m in the previous year. For the first nine months of the year, net income rose to SEK12.7m (SEK6.9m), the group said.

Third quarter net sales amounted to SEK307.5m from SEK288.8m in the prior year.

"Our continued focus on the restaurant market is going according to plan. This visibility is very important for our brands," said Peter Bronsman, executive director of the group.

Operating profits for the quarter reached SEK15.9m from SEK11.7m in the prior year.
