Japan's Kirin Brewery reported a leap in its first quarter operating profits today, which jumped 179.4% to ¥9,973m.

The company said that sales had increased 3.8% to ¥315,239m. Net profits, meanwhile, reached ¥807m. This compared to a loss of ¥238m in the same period a year before.

The company said that it expected to post a net profit of ¥39 billion for the full year, which is in line with previous forecasts.
