Coming up at this year's London International Wine Fair & Distil…

Wines of Chile will hold a seminar on the Tuesday that will “challenge preconceptions and highlight the ... progress Chile is making”. Hosted by journalist and broadcaster Peter Richards, 'Take a Fresh Look at Chile' will focus on Syrah and Chardonnay from the country.

Richards will offer those attending the opportunity to taste several wines, including De Martino Single Vineyard Quebrada Seca Chardonnay 2008, Maycas del Limarí Chardonnay Reserva Especial 2008 and De Martino Alto los Toros Syrah de Alcohuaz 2008.

The seminar takes place from 1530 to 1630 at the LIWF Masterclass Theatre at the east end of the hall. To book a place, email info@winesofchile.org.uk.

Italian wine producer Gruppo Italiano Vini (Stand N20) will have a comprehensive selection from its 14 wineries available to taste at this year's fair. Included on the stand will be the revamped range from Bolla, the unveiling of the new Frascatana bottle from Fontana Candida and low-alcohol wine Prima Luna.

Also, the company's south Italy winemaker, Andrea Lonardi from Castello Monaci in Apulia, will be giving one to one tastings on the stand. To book a private tutorial, email Rebecca.bishop@givukltd.co.uk.

Southern French co-operative Mont Tauch (stand J50) will have two new ranges on show at ExCel. The Mont Tauch range of nine new Fitous, including the premium single vineyard selection, and the Mont Tauch Sweet Range featuring fortified wines from different southern French appellations will be available to taste. The group's UK sales director, Antoine Leray, will also be around to answer questions. For further details, email emma@eviva.co.uk.

The Italian wine region Friuli-Venezia Giulia (stand W40), which is best known for its white wines, will run a series of food and wine matching tastings on their stand throughout the fair, led by Peter McCombie MW. Sweet wines will be featured for the first time, as well as dry wines with food from the region to match. A selected range of wines will also be available to taste.
