UK: Interest in Scotch innovation working party grows

By | 11 September 2007

Interest in the working party on Scotch whisky image and innovation, organised by the World Whiskies Conference, has grown to the extent that a second session has been organised.

Conference director Ian Buxton told just-drinks, which is supporting the event, that demand was such that a second meeting has been convened in late October. This will act as a sounding board for the reports from the first group of industry leaders and help prepare the presentation for the April 2008 conference proper.

"Participants include Diageo, William Grants, Inver House and Burn Stewart," Buxton said, "and they'll be joined in October by Highland Distillers, the SWA and industry suppliers such as Field Packaging."

"I'm expecting a productive and creative session."

Whisky industry executives wishing to participate in the October review can contact Ian Buxton through the World Whiskies Conference website.
