EUROPE: Industry refutes threat of vending fraud after euro launch

Fears that the arrival of the euro will open Europe's vending machines up to fraud are being refuted by currency and soft drink experts. "The euro coins are the best protected coins ever," Yannis Xenakis, an EU official on the team responsible for the introduction of the currency, told Reuters yesterday.
