US: Icon Estates winery appoints winemaking director

Estancia has appointed a director of winemaking.
The Icon Estates division confirmed on Friday that Robert Cook, who joined the company in 2000, will assume the position. Cook will report to Mark Castaldi, vice president and general manager of Estancia.
"Robert brings a wealth of education and experience to this position," Castaldi said. "With Robert leading the winemaking team we will continue to see many more great wines from Estancia in the years to come."
Cook has spent two years as a winemaker in Spain, and has held harvest intern positions in Napa Valley at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars and Opus One.
Icon Estates, which was integrated into Constellation Wines US earlier this year, also includes other wineries in the US, most notably Robert Modavi Winery, as well as wineries in New Zealand, Italy, Australia and Chile.
