UK: Ian Macleod Distillers takes distribution from Harvey Miller Wine and Spirit Agencies
Glengoyne is Ian Macleod Distillers' flagship Scotch brand
Ian Macleod Distillers has decided to shift its UK and Ireland distribution from Harvey Miller Wine and Spirit Agencies and bring it in-house.
The Scotland-based firm, which owns Glengoyne Highland single malt Scotch, said today (5 October) that the decision had been “mutual” between itself and Harvey Miller Wine and Spirit Agencies (HMWSA). Ian Macleod has subsequently appointed two executives to support the operation.
Alan Wardrop joins the company from HMWSA and will assume the position of UK sales manager, while Neil Boyd joins as UK commercial director, moving across from Bacardi where for four years he held the position of global brand director for Dewars.
“After five years working together with HMWSA it was a mutual decision that Ian Macleod Distillers take distribution back in-house, as we are now very successfully providing own label to many multiples throughout UK,” said Ian Macleod's managing director, Leonard Russell. “Future distribution synergies for this and our core brands now lie in-house.”
HMWSA is looking to concentrate more on its wine business, Russell added.
