We are confident that the travellers will enjoy this new offering.”
Mentioned below are the details of the 5 rare vintage malts that have been launched and will be exclusively available at Delhi Duty Free:
- Chieftain's Miltonduff25 YO Speyside Single Malt Scotch whisky
Said to have been founded in 1824 by Pearey & Bain, Miltonduff came into ownership of Hiram Walker in 1936 and is now part of the Pernod Ricard Group. The distillery had six Miltonduff stills and two Lomond stills, which were installed in 1964 and dismantled in 1981. The distillery is situated to the south of Elgin, opposite the Pluscarden Priory on the banks of the River Lossie.
Available in a 70 cl size, the bottle is priced at $200
- Chieftain's Blair Athol 25 YO Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky
Although originally founded almost 30 years earlier, the present distillery was established in 1826, when revived by John Robertson. It passed into the hands of John Conacher& Co in 1827. It closed in 1932 and, although purchased by Arthur Bell & Sons the following year, it did not come into production again until 1949 after rebuilding. Extended from two to four stills in 1973, it is now part of Diageo. It is located near Pitlochry, and not at Blair Atholl as its name suggests.
Available in a 70 cl size, the bottle is priced at $200
- Chieftain's Bunnahabhain 26 YO Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky
Bunnahabhain, meaning “Mouth of the River”, is located in a beautiful setting overlooking the Island of Jura. Unlike its island neighbours, Bunnahabhain is a lightlypeated malt. The distillery has the largest pot stills on the island and its production is mostly used for blending purposes. The un-peated water used at the distillery rises through limestone, and flows down the river Margadale from where it is piped to the distillery. This is gently subtle Islay malt.
Available in a 70 cl size, the bottle is priced at $220
- Chieftain's Inchgower 29 YO Speyside Single Malt Scotch whisky
Established in 1871 and built by Alexander Wilson & Co as “The great distillery of Inchgower” to replace tochineal, which had become outdated and cramped. The company celebrated its centenary on 12th July 1922. It was purchased by Buckie Town Council for £ 4000. It doubled to four stills in 1966 and is now part of Diageo. The distillery is situated between Fochabers and Buckie on the moray coast.
Available in a 70 cl size, the bottle is priced at $275
- Chieftain's Teaninich 30 YO Highland Single Malt Scotch whisky
Teaninich was founded in 1817, as an estate distillery, later providing whisky for such well known blends as VAT 69, Haig, Dimple, gained a classic still-house in the 1970’s. Thetongue twisting name ‘Teaninich’ (Usually pronounced as “tee-ninick”, but some say “chee-ninick”) began to be heard more widely in 1990’s whose malt was bottled in the Flora and Fauna series.
Available in a 70 cl size, the bottle is priced at $300
