Austrian brewer Hirter has recorded a healthy rise in full-year turnover.

The company said yesterday (21 February) that sales for 2005 were up by 5% on the year at EUR16.6m (US$19.8m).

In volume terms, total sales remained unchanged for the beer company at 151,000 hectolitres, while draught beer sales were up by 1.5% from 67,425 hectolitres the year before. The overall draught beer market in Austria last year fell by 2.2%.

Sales of beer in half-litre bottles, meanwhile, dipped by 1% compared to a 2.3% decline for the segment as a whole.
