UK: Hemmings interested in S&N pubs (report)

According to a report in the Financial Times, the gaming and leisure magnate, Trevor Hemmings, is considering launching a bid for Scottish & Newcastle's pubs and hotels.

Hemmings was thought to have requested from Deutsche Bank details about S&N's Premier Lodge budget hotel business in which he is thought to be particularly interested.

S&N is due to issue an information memorandum for the sale of its 1,450 pubs and the Premier Lodge hotel business early next week.
