Off-trade sales get new head at Heineken UK

Heineken has announced a change of leadership for off-trade sales at its UK unit.

The brewer confirmed late last week that Martin Porter will join Heineken UK as off-trade sales director on 6 April.

Porter replaces Mark Gerken, who will leave the unit in April to “pursue other business opportunities”, Heineken said. Gerken will retain his role as chairman of Heineken's UK wholesale operations, WaverleyTBS.

In his new role, he will report to Stefan Orlowski, Heineken UK's managing director, and will become a member of the unit's senior management team.

Porter joins the UK unit from Mars Petcare UK where he is the current sales director.

Earlier this month, Heineken UK confirmed that it plans to raise its on-trade beer wholesale prices by GBP0.04 (US$0.065) per pint from 1 February.
