Heineken is to cut jobs in Poland in a move to reduce costs. The company announced today that around 250 jobs are set to go in the country.

Speaking to Dow Jones, a spokeswoman for the country said: "We need to integrate several breweries in the country and that will result in 250 job cuts at a brewery in Warsaw."

Heineken acquired the brewery from Austrian brewer BBAG last year. The job cuts follow a report in February that Heineken was looking to close five of BBAG's 22 breweries as part of the integration.

The spokeswoman did not give details about the expected cost savings.
