Heineken USA has appointed a new VP of marketing for portfolio brands to help lead the company's fresh push for Strongbow in the country.

Matthew Kahn replaces Colin Westcott-Pitt, who is now VP of marketing for brand Heineken in the US, the company told just-drinks today (17 September). Kahn will start in his new role on Wednesday.

He will be responsible for brand strategy, media and public relations for Dos Equis, Newcastle Brown Ale, Amstel and Strongbow.

Heineken said last month it was bringing the distribution of Strongbow in-house in the US to capitalise on the country's fast-growing cider market.

Kahn was previously senior VP of marketing at Energy Brands and has also worked for Coca-Cola, where he dealt in marketing for brands including Coca-Cola Classic, Sprite and Nestea.

“Matt’s background of successfully marketing global brands for nearly 20 years has undoubtedly equipped him to help take our brands to the next level,” Lesya Lysyj, CMO for Heineken USA, said.
