RUSSIA: H1 beer production on the rise, just

Russian beer production in the first six months of this year has registered a slight increase, according to recent figures.
The country's Beer Brewers Union said yesterday (18 July) that output between January and June was up by 8.5% on the corresponding period a year earlier.
In the first five months of 2006, beer production slipped in 30 Russian regions, but increased in 43 regions, the union said. Some 21 regions saw production rise by over 20%.
Although the union did not release exact figures, it said that output for the full year is expected to increase by between 5% and 7%.
