The mineral water producer, Guessinger Mineralwasser GmbH, has filed for insolvency, it was announced yesterday by the company's majority shareholder, Markus Knoll.

The move was triggered after the company failed to secure an enterprise resource planning (ERP) loan. There were also said to be problems with its parent company, the German mineral water group, Aqua Montana, which acquired Guessinger two years ago from the Austrian brewing combine, BBAG.

Guessinger Mineralwasser is reported to be seeking an investor who will help keep the company, which has a workforce of 50, running as a going concern.
