Group Danone is supporting its latest Evian ad with a “babifier” app that promises to turn consumers into their "inner babies".

In mid-May, consumers will be able to download a smartphone and Facebook app that uses facial recognition software to turn a picture of themselves into a baby. Photos can be shared on Facebook and Twitter, Danone said.

The online advert, “Baby & Me”, follows Evian's 2009 “Roller Babies” and 2011 “Baby Inside” and is part of the brands Live Young campaign, Danone said late last week. It has been launched simultaneously in 14 countries, the group said.

Evian brand ambassadors Maria Sharapova and professional golfer Melissa Reid will feature in a print campaign revealing their “inner babies”.

Last week, Danone reported a "solid" rise in Q1 sales in its bottled waters division, with emerging markets continuing to boost the unit's performance.
