UK: Greene King ‘Old Speckled Hen’ to sponsor Dave

By | 28 April 2009

Greene King, the UK ale brewer, has signed its first television advertising deal for its Old Speckled Hen beer brand.

The brand will sponsor UK entertainment channel Dave from 18 May, with ads running during the channel's prime time weekday evening slot through to 2010.

The campaign for Old Speckled Hen is designed to encourage viewers to "seek out something different" and will feature an "inquisitive" fox searching for the elusive "Hen".

Fiona Hope, marketing director at Greene King, said: "The fit between Dave and Old Speckled Hen is absolutely spot on. Both offer something a little different, witty, and quintessentially British."

Hope added: "The campaign enables us to target very effectively a broad male audience interested in widening their tastes."

Sectors: Beer & cider

Companies: Greene King
