Goose Island's 312 Urban Wheat Ale will be available on United Airlines flights from this week

Anheuser-Busch InBev-owned Goose Island Beer Co has agreed a tie-up with United Airlines for its 312 Urban Wheat Ale 'craft' beer brand.

The company, which was acquired A-B InBev in 2011 for US$38.8m, said late last week that the wheat beer will be made available on United's worldwide flights as well as in United Clubs in the US. The beer will be available free of charge to premium-cabin customers and will cost $7.99 in United Economy from tomorrow (1 July) while, in United Clubs, a serving will cost $3.

“To commemorate the new partnership,” Goose Island said, “United will host a special happy hour July 1 on United Flight 312 from Chicago to Houston and serve a complimentary 312 Urban Wheat Ale to customers throughout the aircraft.”

312 Urban Wheat Ale is named after “one of Chicago’s primary area codes”, the company said.
