Global Spirits owns the Khortytsa and Morosha vodka brands

The owner of the Khortytsa and Morosha vodka brands, Global Spirits, is to open an Americas office in New York as it eyes further international expansion.

The company said today the new unit will be based out of its existing New York premises and will be responsible for Global Spirits' portfolio in the Americas, excluding the US. Julius Criscione will lead the unit, reporting to Global Spirits USA’s CEO, Maxim Dubossarsky.

"The creation of this business unit reflects the company’s ongoing efforts toward international expansion" Dubossarsky said. "Our goal is to establish a network of business partners who share the same values and passion for building brands in an open and transparent environment."

Criscione joined Global Spirits in 2012 as the US unit's national sales & marketing director. He previously held a number of leadership positions at Pernod Ricard USA, Global Spirits said.

Global Spirits is a privately-held company with operational hubs in New York, Moscow and Kiev. It was established in 2008, and its top-selling brand, Khortytsa Vodka, sells about 6.4m cases a year.

Macallan-owner Edrington this year launched a new joint venture with World Equity Brand Builders to handle distribution in Americas Travel Retail.
