GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) plans to launch two Brazilian-themed Lucozade offerings in the UK ahead of next year's football World Cup.

Lucozade Sport Brazilian Guava and Lucozade Energy The Brazilian Mango & Mandarin aim to capitalise on an expected increase in sporting participation caused by the Brazil tournament, GSK said today (2 December). Both will feature in an upcoming GBP12m (US$19m) Lucozade marketing campaign.

Lucozade is set to change hands after Suntory Food & Beverage agreed in September to buy the brand, along with Ribena, for GBP1.35bn (US$2.11bn). A spokesperson for GSK told just-drinks today the company owns the brands for the remainder of this year.

The companies said at the time the deal is expected to be completed by the end of 2013.
