US: Glacier Water reverses loss in Q1

Glacier Water Services has recorded a slight climb in sales for the first quarter of 2007.
The US bottled water machine provider yesterday (24 April) posted a 6.1% rise in sales for the quarter, reaching US$20.6m compared to $19.4m in the same period last year. Income from operations totalled $127,000, reversing a loss for Q1 a year earlier of $13,000.
"(The sales increase) was driven by improving machine productivity, growth in the number of locations, and the continued strong performance of the new 'G-2' machines," said company CEO Brian McInerney.
Glacier runs around 15,900 machines located in 41 states throughout the US and Canada, which dispense drinking water through self-service bottled water machines located at supermarkets and other retail locations.
