Frucor Beverages has acquired the assets and brands of the Arano juice business in New Zealand.

The beverage company said last Friday (20 July) that, from 6 August, it plans to run Arano as a standalone company, operating from its current premises in Kumeu. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The company confirmed that the deal includes a long-term exclusive supply arrangement from an orchard owned by Arano's founders, John and Kath Tollemache.

Frucor CEO Carl Bergstrom said: "The acquisition gives Frucor the capability to make and distribute short shelf life chilled products and increases its distribution in the hospitality sector."

Bergstrom added that the Tollemache's "will retain an association" with the business as its key supplier of oranges, as well as acting as management consultants.

Frucor Beverages is an Australasian beverage company and fully owned subsidiary of Danone. Frucor brands include Just Juice, Fresh Up, McCoy, Citrus Tree, V, Mizone, and H2Go.
